Laboratory Director/Chief Medical Technologist

The Mississippi State Hospital is seeking a contract worker to serve as Laboratory Director/Chief Medical Technologist. The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Bacteriology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field, and certification as a medical technologist/clinical laboratory scientist by a recognized certification agency, with 5 years of work-related experience. The contract will begin on or around July 1, 2026, and end June 30, 2027, at a rate of $40.00 per hour, with up to 40 hours of work per week. The chosen applicant will work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Some key points to consider: • The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and certification as a medical technologist/clinical laboratory scientist. • The contract will be for a period of 1 year, with a rate of $40.00 per hour. • The chosen applicant will work up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. • Original documentation verifying education and 3 signed Letters of Recommendation are required with the resume.
