Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector

The Town of Westerly/Westerly Public Schools is seeking a qualified Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector to perform inspections of new installations in construction, alterations, or renovations to ensure compliance with State Code. The inspector will be responsible for reviewing applications for plumbing mechanical permits, dealing with the public for questions and project-related topics, and performing inspections on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience and a valid Rhode Island master pipe fitters or journey person contractor's license. The contract is for 3 years with two 12-month extension options, contingent upon available funding. Key responsibilities include: • Inspecting new installations in construction, alterations, or renovations to ensure compliance with State Code • Reviewing applications for plumbing mechanical permits • Dealing with the public for questions and project-related topics • Performing inspections on a daily basis • Maintaining an active license with the Department of Labor and Training • Earning 15 continuing education hours per year at the inspector's expense
