The Town of Dunstable is seeking proposals from qualified individuals and firms for consulting services related to conducting a feasibility study and conceptual design plan for the Town Center Community Path. The path aims to connect important civic and cultural resources throughout the historic Town Center, addressing safety and access between the Dunstable Library, Town Hall, the Town Fields, Woodward’s Mill Pond, and the Town Cemetery off Westford Street. The scope of services includes a comprehensive assessment of existing conditions, refinement of community goals and priorities, development of alternatives and preferred options for the trail alignment and intersection redesigns, and creation of a final plan with recommendations for short- and long-term maintenance.
• The study will include data collection on existing conditions, alternatives analysis for alignment of the trail and intersection treatments, review connections to existing bicycle/pedestrian facilities and trails, phasing of future projects, public engagement around project alternatives, and conceptual design for a priority segment of the preferred alternative, and preliminary cost estimates for future design and construction.
• The implementation plan will describe next steps for bringing the project to construction.
• The project must be fully completed by June 30, 2027.
