Galvanometer Scanner System

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a galvanometer scanner system. The system must meet specific minimum requirements, including galvo acceleration, galvo speed, control interface, positioning resolution, and repeatability. The system will be used to support research in metals-based additive manufacturing. The notice is not a solicitation, but rather a sources sought notice to identify potential sources that can meet the requirements. Interested parties must respond in writing by May 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. • The system must have a galvo acceleration of >= 160,000 rad/s^2. • The system must have a galvo speed of > 2000 mm/s. • The system must have a control interface: digital, XY2-100 or SL2-100 equivalent. • The system must have a positioning resolution of >= 20 bits. • The system must have a repeatability (RMS) of < 0.4 μrad.
