Description

The State of Alabama is issuing a Quick‑Quote solicitation for the production of a television documentary series titled “Reel South.” The series aims to amplify authentic Southern voices, foster dialogue across differences, and reach diverse audiences by showcasing Southern storytelling. The Southern Documentary Funds will serve as the sole distributor of the episodes. Vendors will be expected to provide end‑to‑end production services—including development, filming, editing, post‑production, and delivery of broadcast‑ready assets—under the standard Quick‑Quote terms. • Produce a multi‑episode documentary series focused on Southern culture and perspectives. • Deliver fully edited, broadcast‑ready video files meeting technical specifications defined by the State. • Comply with all Alabama Quick‑Quote contractual, certification, and E‑Verify requirements. • Accept electronic payment and be prepared for possible cancellation notices (30‑day for supplies, 72‑hour for services). • Provide required certifications (debarment, tax, immigration) as part of the bid submission.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $1,000,000

No specific dollar amount is listed. Based on typical state‑funded documentary productions, a single‑season series of modest length (e.g., 4‑6 episodes) often falls in the $200 K‑$1 M range, depending on scope, talent, and production values. Lower‑end estimates assume a lean crew and limited post‑production; higher‑end assumes higher production quality, travel, and extensive post‑production work.
