This solicitation seeks a qualified insurance carrier or broker to provide secondary (and primary where no other coverage exists) athletic accident insurance for Winthrop University’s intercollegiate athletes, managers, trainers, and related personnel. The contract will cover a broad range of sports and activities, provide defined benefit limits, and require electronic claims processing, annual reporting, and a dedicated third‑party administrator. The award will be a five‑year agreement (initial one‑year term with up to four one‑year renewals) with a fixed annual premium and optional early‑payment discounts.
• Provide $90,000 per‑injury medical expense coverage, $10,000 AD&D, and a $1,000,000 aggregate limit per accident.
• Deliver 100 % paperless claims submission, annual claim‑status reporting, and rapid (24‑hour) response to inquiries.
• Maintain a dedicated claims‑coordination agent and third‑party administrator for all Winthrop campuses, meet annual COR meetings, and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and state insurance rating requirements.
