Description
The Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF), intends to award a non-competitive, sole-source purchase order to CAREFUSION SOLUTIONS LLC for Pyxis Automated Dispensing Systems for controlled drugs and medication services. The system should provide a fully automated and accurate method for securing, tracking, and replenishing supplies of controlled substances and other medications. The system must meet specific requirements, including secure stations and auxiliaries, single line-item access, and single-dose dispensing. The system should also provide real-time tracking and reporting of medication usage and have the ability to interface with hospital information systems. The contract period is from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026, with four one-year option periods.
• The system must have multiple, configurable lidded pocket sizes to increase secure storage capacity for all medications.
• The system must allow a nurse to queue meds or document medication waste from any computer via a fully web-accessible system.
• The system must print patient dose-specific labels for meds removed from the MedStation, as configured by Pharmacy.
• The system must locate medications not available at the current station to support rapid medication access and timely administration of therapy.
• The system must support dispensing of items consisting of multiple medications or components.
• The system must identify the least removed medications at each station to optimize inventory.
• The system must have Bio ID technology.
• The system must be able to reconcile controlled substances dispensed to cabinets.
