The Military Sealift Command seeks a U.S.-flag, Jones Act‑compliant ocean‑going tug to perform a single open‑ocean tow of the ex‑GERMANTOWN (LSD‑42) from Naval Station San Diego, CA to Pearl Harbor, HI. The tug must meet specific vessel age, bollard‑pull, and equipment requirements, be fully bunkered, and provide satellite communications. The contractor must also supply an Independent Marine Surveyor, prepare a detailed towing package (including technical evaluations, tow line calculations, route planning, and safety documentation), and submit position reports throughout the voyage.
