RFP for County Road 50 Corridor Study

The Washington County Public Works Department is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to provide project coordination, data collection, stakeholder engagement, and preliminary engineering services for the County Road 50 Corridor Study. The study aims to identify improvements to the corridor, including pedestrian/bike, safety, and drainage improvements, and to develop a preliminary design for the corridor. The consultant will be responsible for developing a public involvement plan, conducting public engagement and outreach, and providing a final report with recommendations for the corridor. • The corridor is approximately 6 miles long and is functionally classified as a Major Collector on the west end and a Minor Collector on the east end. • The traffic volumes range from 700 to 2,000 vehicles/day. • The posted speed limit is 50 mph, with advisory speeds around curves. • The project will involve coordination with multiple agencies, including the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Cities of Forest Lake and Scandia. • The consultant will be required to provide a detailed description of their approach and methodology, as well as a description of their experience and qualifications.
