Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking information from industry parties regarding their interest, capabilities, and qualifications for the Mouth of the Columbia River (MCR) North Jetty Rehab Project Phase 2. The project involves repairing offshore ocean side damage to the North Jetty, which is located at the southwest corner of Washington State near Ilwaco, WA. The project requires the repair and reconstruction of approximately 900 feet of the jetty trunk, with an estimated stone volume of 11,100 cubic yards and a minimum stone density of 185 pounds per cubic foot. The project also includes optional repairs to 2,750 feet of jetty trunk. The government is seeking information from both large and small business members of industry, including Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB), and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). • The project requires the construction of a jetty crest haul road and a staging area to store the large quantity of jetty armor stone. • The project involves the placement of new jetty armor stone, with an expected stone size of 20-40 tons each. • The project is expected to be completed by the end of calendar year 2028. • The government anticipates awarding one Firm Fixed-Price contract. • The project has specific constraints and challenges, including river-induced currents, tidal currents, wave-induced currents, and high-speed coastal winds.

Budget estimate

$10,000,000 – $50,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the estimated stone volume and the minimum stone density. The project requires approximately 11,100 cubic yards of stone, with a minimum density of 185 pounds per cubic foot. Assuming an average cost of $100 per cubic yard of stone, the total cost of the stone would be approximately $1,110,000. However, this is only a small portion of the total project cost, which would also include labor, equipment, and other expenses. Based on the project description, the total budget for the project could be in the range of $10 million to $50 million. The actual budget will depend on various factors, including the contractor's bid, the complexity of the project, and the government's budget.
