2026 Water Main Improvements

The City of Elgin is seeking bids for the 2026 Water Main Improvements project. The scope of work includes the installation of approximately 11,720 feet of 8-inch water main and 495 feet of 12-inch water main, and all other appurtenant work and materials necessary to complete the project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. The project must comply with the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. • The project includes various tasks such as tree root pruning, tree removal, water service installation, and storm sewer removal and replacement. • The bidder shall submit, if requested by the City, a list of qualified references for projects of similar size and scope of this project. • The bidder shall pay prevailing wage and shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project. • The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities and any informality in any bid.
