The Argonne National Laboratory is seeking to acquire an X-ray transmission (XRT)-based sorting system for the automated classification of lithium-ion batteries, minerals, colored plastics, and metals. The system will serve as a flexible research platform enabling user programmability, algorithm development, and experimentation across a wide range of materials related to critical materials supply chains and recycling technologies. The system should provide open access to data and control interfaces to support external analysis and the creation of custom algorithms.
Key features of the system include:
• User programmability
• Algorithm development
• Experimentation across a wide range of materials
• Open access to data and control interfaces
• Support for external analysis and custom algorithm creation
The proposal should include a technical proposal, business/management proposal, and price proposal. The technical proposal should address the evaluation criteria outlined in Enclosure No. 4, which includes technical approach, environmental safety and health, quality assurance, and record of past performance. The business/management proposal should include corporate profile, financial condition and capability, acceptance period of proposal, authorized representatives, representations and certifications, and exceptions and deviations. The price proposal should include a comprehensive price breakdown and extended total for the requested equipment.
