Description

The FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) seeks a complete, commercially‑available 2‑D high‑density multi‑electrode array (MEA) electrophysiology platform for drug‑induced neural activity studies. The award will be based on Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) and includes hardware, software, consumables, installation, calibration, training, a two‑year warranty, and up to three one‑year preventative‑maintenance options. Delivery must occur within 60 days of award, with installation, verification, calibration and training completed within 75 days. The contract may extend up to five years if all maintenance options are exercised. • One complete high‑density 2‑D MEA system with workstation and accessories • Perpetual software license for acquisition, analysis and data management • Five recording plates/chips for independent experiments • On‑site installation, system verification, calibration, and hands‑on training for up to two FDA personnel • Two‑year manufacturer warranty plus three optional one‑year post‑warranty maintenance periods • Delivery to FDA White Oak Campus, Silver Spring, MD • Firm‑fixed‑price, unrestricted competition, LPTA award basis

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,500,000

The solicitation does not disclose a price ceiling, but high‑density MEA platforms with integrated workstations, software licenses, consumables and multi‑year service contracts typically range from several hundred thousand to over a million U.S. dollars. Assuming a base system cost of $600‑$800 k, five recording plates (~$10‑$15 k each), a perpetual software license (~$100‑$150 k) and three optional maintenance years (~$80‑$120 k per year), the total contract value is likely between $500,000 and $1,500,000. Factors influencing the final amount include brand/model selection, optional accessories, and negotiated warranty/maintenance terms.
