PGC-Object Storage Solution

The University of Minnesota’s Polar Geospatial Center seeks a vendor to design, supply, and implement an object‑based storage platform capable of at least 40 PiB of usable capacity, with scalable growth. The solution must support high‑frequency access to remote‑sensing imagery and digital elevation products, functioning as near‑line storage rather than deep archive. Two architectural approaches are acceptable: (1) a cloud‑based solution (with optional on‑premise hybrid components) or (2) a fully on‑premise solution. The vendor will be responsible for system design, integration, performance optimization, and ongoing support as defined in the RFP’s “Workflow” section.
