Description
The City of Santa Barbara is seeking a consultant to provide a comprehensive facility condition assessment for five parking structures and two buildings in the downtown area. The assessment will include an evaluation of the physical and structural conditions of the facilities, as well as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. The consultant will be required to perform site investigations, document existing conditions, and provide recommendations for corrective work and budget estimates. The scope of work includes tasks such as data gathering, site investigation, and preparation of a comprehensive report. Some key aspects of the job include:
• Assessment of architectural, structural, life/safety, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Identification of seismic connections, structural, or safety matters that require immediate attention
• Recommendations for corrective work and related budget estimates
• Review of parking lots for potential placement of self-service pay stations and ADA-related enhancements
• Identification and recommendation of improvements needed to ensure ADA compliance in parking structures and surface lots
