The City of Edgewater, Florida has entered into a contract with Doran, Sims, Wolfe, Ciocchetti & Yoon to provide legal services to the city. The contract commenced on January 7, 2020, and will last for a term of 6 years. The firm will provide representation and counsel to the city, including attendance at city council meetings, review of city council agenda and resolutions, and preparation of oral or written opinions on legal matters. The firm will be compensated at rates set forth in the compensation proposal, with partners being paid $225 per hour, associates being paid $185 per hour, and paralegals being paid $55 per hour. The city will reimburse the firm for expenses incurred, including travel expenses and court filing fees. Some key points of the contract include: • The firm will make affirmative efforts to achieve cost effectiveness • The firm will keep and maintain accurate time records • The firm will submit billing statements to the city on a monthly basis • The city will pay each monthly bill within 30 days of receipt • The contract can be terminated by either party with 30 days written notice
