The Butte County Department of Public Works sought one or more qualified contractors to perform on-call potholing services for a 3-year on-call contract. The contractor was required to perform potholing services when requested by the County and adhere to certain requirements, including using a Vac-Tron vacuum excavator or approved equal, adhering to the County Standard, and performing traffic controls. However, all bids were rejected due to inconsistencies in bid results, and the County will be refining the scope of services and reposting another request for a 3-year On-call Potholing Service contract soon. Key aspects of the contract include:
• Potholing services to be performed by hand or with the use of a Vac-Tron vacuum excavator or approved equal
• Adherence to the County Standard and applicable prevailing wage rates and laws
• Performance of traffic controls pursuant to the current State of California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CMUTCD)
• Documentation of pothole results, including utility, material, approximate diameter, and depth from surrounding ground, with at least 2 photos showing utility in question
• Provision of documentation to the County within 24 hours of completing the work
