Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)

The County of San Mateo Human Services Agency is seeking to implement and support a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) pursuant to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements and other local specifications. The system will be used by homeless services providers and local safety net service providers to enter information subject to federal data standards. The contract was awarded to Bitfocus, Inc. The key features of the contract include the implementation and support of the HMIS, compliance with federal data standards, and customization of screens and services for Core Service Agencies. • The HMIS will be used by approximately 315 staff from 16 partner agencies for data entry. • The system will include a common global client profile. • The contract includes the provision of a case management data system that incorporates and is utilized by both homeless services providers and local safety net service providers. • The system will enable cross-collaboration between HMIS providers and Core Service Agencies.
