MSU-Legal Services for ASMSU

The Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) is seeking a supplier to provide limited scope legal services to all eligible students in good standing at MSU-Bozeman and Gallatin College. The contract is for a two-year term with the option to renew. The contractor will provide legal advice and representation to students, including misdemeanor criminal matters, issues between landlords and tenants, consumer transactions, family law, probate and estate issues, and small claims civil matters. The contractor will also provide referral services for matters outside the scope of the contract. • The contractor must be available to meet with students on campus or virtually for at least 8 hours per week. • The contractor must provide competent legal advice and demonstrate proficiency in specific substantive areas. • The contractor must provide legal representation to students in certain circumstances. • The contractor must inform students of available attorneys for further consultations beyond the scope of the contract. • The contractor must provide access to student legal services without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information, pregnancy, national origin, or physical/mental/learning disability.
