22-6484 Smart Irrigation Controllers, Direct Distribution Program

The City of Goodyear has participated in the Direct Distribution Program of Smart Irrigation Controllers, implemented by the Alliance for Water Efficiency, dba AWE. The program aims to decrease outdoor water use through better management of irrigation practices. The program enables customers to purchase smart controllers directly from Rachio on a website specifically developed for the program. The City of Goodyear can select the level of cost share it will pay for its individual program. The program also provides a web-based online platform to provide information on the number of active Rachio controllers in each region, irrigation schedules, and weather data. • The program is implemented by Rachio, Inc. • The smart controller selected for the program is the Rachio 3 model, an EPA WaterSense labeled controller. • The program provides a web-based online platform to provide information on the number of active Rachio controllers in each region, irrigation schedules, and weather data. • The City of Goodyear can terminate participation in the program upon 30 days written notice to AWE.
