2026 Ultrasonic Inspection and Testing

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is seeking a contractor to conduct one ultrasonic rail inspection per year on all mainline revenue tracks for both Commuter Rail (CR) and Light Rail (LR). The contractor will be responsible for inspecting approximately 19 miles of 115# rail with 2 Crossovers, 10 Turnouts, and 14 switches for CR, and approximately 60 miles of double track with testing/inspection requirements on approximately 110 miles of track for LR. The contractor will provide all necessary equipment, operators, and personnel to perform the inspections. • The contract will be for a period of 3 years, with two optional 1-year extensions. • The contractor will be required to submit a technical proposal, cost proposal, and other required documents. • The evaluation criteria for the proposal will include approach, cost, past relevant experience, and qualification of staff. • The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and RTD policies. • The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
