Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer

The Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College is seeking bids for an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) for enriched nitrogen and carbon samples. The IRMS must meet specific requirements, including the ability to measure 15N/13C enriched samples in solid and gaseous samples, true differential pumping, and a combined Gas Analyzer EA-IRMS system. The instrument must also be able to measure nitrogen and carbon stable isotope values in solid organic samples concurrently or separately. The contract includes a 2-year warranty, a 5-day onsite installation and start up training, and all associated costs shall be borne by the supplier. Key features of the IRMS include: • An Elemental Analyzer Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (EA-IRMS) system • A combined Gas Analyzer EA-IRMS system • True differential pumping of analyzer and source • Ability to measure nitrogen and carbon stable isotope values in solid organic samples • Total software control of the entire instrument system and data processing • User-friendly software for undergraduate and graduate research and teaching purposes • Autosampler with a purge type needle and removable sampling racks • Uninterruptible power supply system or a power conditioner system • 5-day onsite installation and start up training for at least 2 people • 2-year warranty
