Description

Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) seeks a qualified, California‑licensed contractor to design, supply, install, test, and commission a total of 22 networked electric‑vehicle charging stations (13 Level 2 dual‑port stations, 1 DC fast‑charging station, 2 additional Level 2 stations at Riverside, and 6 Level 2 stations at Hemet). The work includes site preparation (concrete pads, bollards, signage, trenching, utility coordination), electrical infrastructure (switchboards, feeders, conduit, grounding), software integration with RTA’s existing ChargePoint network, and training of RTA staff. The contract is a firm‑fixed‑price, prevailing‑wage project funded in part by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and State Transit Assistance (STA) funds, with a completion deadline of June 30 2026. Bidders must hold a California Class C‑10 contractor’s license, provide a 10 % bid bond, and submit extensive certifications, financial documentation, and insurance. • Install 22 EV charging stations (13 L2 + 1 DCFC at Riverside; 8 L2 at Hemet) with full network integration. • Provide site civil work, electrical power upgrades, testing, commissioning, warranty administration, and staff training. • Comply with prevailing‑wage, Buy‑America, FTA, and State Transit Assistance requirements; submit bid bond (10 %), performance and payment bonds (100 %).

Budget estimate

$600,000 – $1,200,000

Based on typical market rates, a Level 2 dual‑port charger installation averages $15,000‑$25,000 per unit, while a DC fast‑charging station can run $60,000‑$80,000. Adding civil work, electrical upgrades, project management, warranties, and overhead, the total contract value is likely between $600,000 and $1,200,000. The estimate assumes standard equipment costs, moderate site complexity, and a prevailing‑wage labor premium.
