The VA is seeking a Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business to serve as the general contractor for a comprehensive renovation of approximately 3,500 sq ft of first‑floor patient‑care space in Building 47 at the Asheville VA Medical Center. The work includes demolition, new construction of partitions, doors, finishes, and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire‑protection, and security systems, all while maintaining continuous patient‑care operations and complying with VA, federal, and state codes. The contract is firm‑fixed‑price, valued between $1 M and $2 M, with a performance period of 183 days after award.
• Demolition of existing interior finishes, MEP systems, and fire‑protection components.
• Installation of new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire‑alarm, sprinkler, and security (access‑control, nurse‑call, data) systems per VA specifications.
• Interior fit‑out: new walls, acoustic ceilings, resilient flooring, paint, casework, and a new waiting area.
• Extensive safety, health, and documentation requirements (ACCIDENT PREVENTION PLAN, submittal registers, as‑built drawings, warranty management, and periodic photographic documentation).
