Childcare Services at the Courthouse

The Multnomah County Department of County Human Services (DCHS) is seeking a community-based organization to provide limited, developmentally appropriate drop-in childcare service for a diverse population of families visiting the Multnomah County Courthouse Building. The selected organization will need to have expertise in providing childcare to children who may have unmet needs and challenging behaviors, as well as experience working with culturally diverse, low-income, and underserved populations. The contract term is two years, and the estimated annual operating expense is approximately $120,000 to $130,000. The County intends to select one community-based organization capable of providing quality age-appropriate childcare for children of parents/caregivers who have business at the Multnomah County Central Courthouse Building. Some key requirements include: • Experience providing developmentally appropriate childcare to children who may have unmet needs and challenging behaviors • Experience providing childcare to children from culturally diverse, low-income, and underserved populations • Ability to provide childcare services at the Multnomah County Central Courthouse Building during hours of operation • Staffing capacity to meet or exceed State of Oregon childcare certification requirements
