Generator Step-Up Transformer (GSU) for the Ames Municipal Electric Center

The City of Ames, Iowa is seeking bids for the design, manufacture, furnishing, shop assembly, inspection, shop testing, painting, preparation for shipping, preservation during shipment and storage at site, delivery F.O.B., unloading, erection, installation, oil filling, and field testing of one 50/66/83 MVA, 69kV – 13.8kV transformer, complete with all accessories. The work shall include all necessary and/or usually supplied equipment and appurtenances for the safe, efficient, and convenient operation of the transformer within the scope. The key aspects of this project include: • Design and manufacture of the transformer • Furnishing and delivery of the transformer • Installation and testing of the transformer • Compliance with the plans and specifications posted online at ames.bids.ionwave.net • Payment of sales, consumer, use, and similar State and local taxes for the Work or portions provided by Contractor • The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
