Description
The City of Colorado Springs – Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) issued an RFI to collect vendor information for a next‑generation transit fare‑collection system that will replace its aging hardware and support up to 200 vehicles. The scope includes modern fareboxes, ticket‑vending machines, vaulting equipment, a cloud‑based back‑office platform, full accessibility compliance, cybersecurity and disaster‑recovery standards, and a Buy‑America mandate. Vendors are asked to provide non‑binding, indicative pricing and technical details for each component, and to demonstrate capability to meet extensive IT rider security requirements. This RFI will inform budgeting and the eventual RFP, which is expected 6‑12 months after the RFI closes.
• Replace/upgrade fareboxes, validators, TVMs, and vaults for a fleet of up to 200 buses.
• Deliver a cloud SaaS back‑office that integrates with Vontas, Trapeze, and TransTrack ITS platforms and supports real‑time reporting, ridership analytics, and ADA‑compliant interfaces.
• Meet strict cybersecurity (NIST, Zscaler, PCI‑DSS), disaster‑recovery (RTO ≤ 4 h, RPO ≤ 1 day), and Buy‑America (49 CFR 661) requirements, as outlined in the City IT Technology Rider.
• Provide indicative pricing for hardware, software, installation, training, warranties, and optional modules; no contract award is contemplated at this stage.
