The United States Air Force is seeking information on potential sources and gathering information on current capabilities within the market for a Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). The CMM should have a touch probe capability, measure in 3 dimensions, and have a volume measurement range of 1x1x1 meters. The system should include a laptop controller, software, and necessary equipment to collect data points and calculate various Geometrical, Tolerancing and Dimensional (GD&T) parameters.
• The CMM should have a minimum resolution of 0.0001 millimeters or better.
• The CMM should have a length measurement uncertainty of ±8 µm up to 50 mm, ±13 µm from 50mm to 500 mm, and ±25 µm from 500mm to 2000 mm.
• The CMM should be able to operate on a line power and/or on a supplied rechargeable battery for at least 3 hours.
• The system should include a staging table, probes, and calibration equipment.
• The system should meet all performance requirements over an operating temperature range of 18°C to 28°C with a humidity range of 20% to 60% RH.
