Description
The City of Salem is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide school bus transportation services to eligible students for three academic years, with the option to extend the contract for two one-year terms. The contractor shall provide regular and special education student transportation services, including athletic and field trip services. The contractor must have a suitable fleet of buses, including wheelchair accessible buses, and provide specific schedules for all alternate transportation services. The contractor must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including prevailing wage rates and non-discrimination laws.
• The contractor must provide 12 buses for regular education transportation and 6 buses for in-district special education transportation.
• The contractor must have a suitable location for secure overnight storage of all vehicles used for this contract.
• The contractor must provide direct access to the Special Education routing database for all Salem routes.
• The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including prevailing wage rates and non-discrimination laws.
