Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a firm‑fixed‑price contractor to replace the existing chilled‑water plant and perform extensive site‑utility upgrades at the West Haven VA Medical Center, including demolition, new plant construction, fuel‑oil tank farm, and redundant electrical feed.
• Replace multi‑story chilled‑water plant with chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated mechanical/electrical systems, meeting LEED Silver and VA security standards.
• Perform site‑utility upgrades: fire‑protection water, domestic water, chilled‑water loops, steam, condensate, and redundant electrical feeder installations.
• Manage construction on an operational medical campus with strict constraints on lay‑down areas, requiring coordination with VA staff and adherence to safety and security requirements.
• Provide full BIM/CIM deliverables, past‑performance documentation, and a minimum 10% small‑business participation.
• Contract value estimated between $75 M and $150 M with a performance period of up to 1,280 days.
