Description
The Department of General Services (DGS) on behalf of Commonwealth Media Services (CMS) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure materials and services to upfit a 2025 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 XD AWD van into a Satellite News Gathering (SNG)/Production/Communications vehicle. The selected vendor will be required to design and build the vehicle, providing all necessary equipment and labor. The vendor must have at least five years of experience in designing and upfitting satellite communications vehicles and provide examples of previous work. The project includes the installation of various equipment such as a 1.8m Ku Sat-Lite antenna, encoders, decoders, and a camera system. The vendor will also be required to provide training and support for the new systems.
Key requirements of the project include:
• Upfitting the vehicle with the necessary equipment for SNG/Production/Communications
• Providing a detailed schematic diagram of the installed cabling
• Offering regular photos of the work as it is being done and being in regular communication with CMS
• Providing one-day hands-on training of the new equipment with the CMS Engineering team
• Providing 24x7 telephone/troubleshooting support of the new systems for one year from date of delivery/customer sign-off
