Description

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is seeking architectural and engineering design services to modify and/or exchange the existing wet Fire Suppression System at the Queensgate Maintenance Garage. The goal is to transition to a passive Mist System that will cover a planned interior storage area for electric buses and a separate electric bus maintenance area. The scope of work includes design, engineering, and construction phase services. The selected firm will be responsible for inspecting existing conditions, attending meetings, and providing construction phase project management. • The project requires experience in fire suppression systems and fire alarm design engineering. • The firm should have knowledge of NFPA standards and best practices for lithium-ion battery hazards. • The project involves reconstructing portions of the current piping infrastructure and integrating additional components. • The firm should be able to provide a low-pressure mist solution and ensure compliance with NFPA standards. • The project requires coordination with SORTA to establish a baseline schedule and installation feasibility. • The firm should be able to provide all necessary deliverables, including schematic design and plans, field survey reports, and construction plans.
