Allison Transmission, Parts and Service

The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for New Buy America Compliant Allison Transmissions to pair with Cummins ISB and/or ISL Factory engines and/or Buy America Remanufactured Transmissions with associated powertrain components and including installation, repairs, overhauls, and rebuild services of all associated components on Gillig and Nova Transit buses. The contract will be for a one-year base period with four optional extension years. The vendor must provide pricing on non-Buy America products, goods, and services. All parts and services are to be provided to AAATA on a by-request basis. • The contractor must be an Allison Certified Distributor. • The contractor's employees performing the installation must be Allison Certified Technicians. • The contractor must propose Service Level Agreements for exceeding 7 Business Day repairs. • The contractor must provide valid Buy America Certifications prior to receiving payment. • The contractor will be responsible for all labor required to swap over necessary transmission components and accessories to properly fit the transmission. • Vehicles must be tested after installation for a minimum of 30 minutes in a variety of conditions to ensure optimum transmission performance and verify that there are no fluid leaks. • Vehicles must be checked for quality control by AAATA shop supervisor or lead technician to ensure proper routing of all hoses, cables, etc., upon completion/delivery to AAATA. • AAATA will be responsible for transporting the vehicles to the service location or up to sixty (60) miles each way, any further distance would be the responsibility of the contractor. • All installation work, including testing and quality control measures, must be completed and the vehicle must be ready for pick-up within seven (7) business days after the delivery of the vehicle. • The contractor shall not invoice core charges on rebuilds and remanufactured transmissions. Core charges are appropriate for new transmission purchases. AAATA will ship requested cores to the vendor within 30 days. The Contractor shall provide a label and shipping information for the core shipment. The Contractor shall pay for all shipping costs. • The contractor must ship transmissions on heavy duty frames and provide equipment cradles upon request for shipment purposes to AAATA. • Rates provided must be inclusive of all costs and fees, including but not limited to those fees imposed by Federal, state, and local governments. No additional fees will be accepted.
