The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, intends to award a sole source purchase order for the acquisition of CEREC Primescan AC TP systems, including on-site training and disposable camera sleeves, for the Dental Service. The CEREC Primescan system provides high-precision intraoral optical impressions via a high-resolution, heated oral 3D scanner. The system features a touchpad, hand and foot controls, USB and network connectivity, and a 21.5-inch LED display.
• The system is necessary to streamline dental prosthetic fabrication by enabling providers to electronically scan patients' mouth and teeth and transmit the files to contracted dental laboratories.
• The digital workflow reduces shipping and fabrication time, shipping and material costs, and is more comfortable for patients than traditional impression techniques.
• The period of performance will be one year from the date of award.
• The justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 12.102, soliciting from a single source, due to the specialized nature of the equipment and compatibility with the dental service's requirements and contracted laboratory interfaces.
