Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute on Aging (NIA), intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to REPROCELL, Inc. for DNA and RNA extraction services from blood and multiple tissue types in support of an ongoing animal study. The requirement involves extraction and quality control analysis for approximately 320 DNA samples and 240 RNA samples derived from multiple organs. • The proposed action is a continuation of previously performed work, and the use of the same vendor is necessary to ensure methodological consistency, minimize batch effects, and maintain comparability with existing datasets critical to the study’s scientific integrity. • The acquisition is conducted under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), as only one source is reasonably available to meet the Government’s requirement. • Respondents must provide sufficient information to establish their bona-fide capabilities of providing the product or service, including unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, delivery days after contract award, and other relevant information.

Budget estimate

$80,000 – $120,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated, but it can be estimated based on the scope of work. The requirement involves extraction and quality control analysis for approximately 320 DNA samples and 240 RNA samples. Assuming an average cost of $100 per DNA extraction and $150 per RNA extraction, the total cost would be around $32,000 for DNA extractions and $36,000 for RNA extractions, totaling $68,000. Additionally, considering the quality control analysis and other associated costs, the total budget could be in the range of $80,000 to $120,000.
