Description

PURPOSE The intent of these specifications is to furnish information to prospective bidders in order to obtain proposals for Consultant Services related to a Fall Creek Comprehensive Stream Corridor Assessment Study Summary Tompkins County seeks professional services to prepare a Fall Creek Comprehensive Stream Corridor Assessment Study. The study will follow a template provided by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and will assess conditions along the Fall Creek corridor and make recommendations for implementation projects. The term of the professional services will be approximately 12 to 16 months from the execution of the Agreement. Background / Description Fall Creek flows through multiple towns in Tompkins and Cayuga counties and is the drinking water supply for Cornell University. The Cornell University Drinking Water Source Protection Plan (DWSP2), currently under review at the State level, identifies sediment loading and erosion and sediment control as the top-ranked priority issue. As an active participant on the DWSP2 development team, Tompkins County applied for and was awarded a Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) grant through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). This planning grant was awarded to the County under the Nonagricultural Nonpoint Source Planning program (NPG) for the development of a Fall Creek Comprehensive Stream Corridor Assessment Study (Study). Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the scope of the project, which involves assessing the stream corridor and providing recommendations for implementation projects, the budget could be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require a significant amount of time and resources from the consultant, including fieldwork, data analysis, and report preparation. Additionally, the fact that the project is being funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation suggests that the budget may be higher than average.
