MIDWAVE Spectrometer/Fiber Light Source/SAMPLER Accessory/Mid-IR Fiber/MIRFIBER

The NASA/NSSC has a requirement for a MIDWAVE Spectrometer/Fiber Light Source/SAMPLER Accessory/Mid-IR Fiber/MIRFIBER. The contractor shall provide a mid-infrared spectrometer, an infrared light source, and fiber optics. The spectrometer should have a wavelength range of 2 to 5 μm, a resolution of <15 nm, and a bit depth of 16. The light source should have a wavelength range of 2 to 5 micrometers and an output power of >1 mW from fiber. The fiber optics should include 100 μm and 200 μm core size fibers for use from 2 to 5 micrometers, each with a length of 1-m. The contractor shall deliver the items to NASA GSFC, Code 698, within 12 weeks. • The spectrometer should be fiber-coupled and include analysis software. • The fiber-coupling module should be able to focus light into fiber. • The spectrometer should have a USB connection and a size of < 35×30×20 cm. • The contractor shall provide a traditional spectrometer and light source to compare against the new system.
