Electronics Recycling Disposal Services

The County of Sarasota is seeking a vendor to provide electronics recycling and disposal services for its household and Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQG) chemical collection programs. The selected vendor will be responsible for collecting electronic goods from residents and small businesses, preparing them for transportation, and disposing of them in an environmentally responsible manner. The contract is expected to be for an initial term of 3 years. The vendor must have experience in providing electronics recycling and disposal services, and must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. • The vendor must provide two references demonstrating their experience in providing electronics recycling and disposal services within the past 7 years. • The vendor must have certification for either Electronic Stewardship (E-Stewardship) or a minimum of two of the following certifications: Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices, Recycling Industry Operating Standards (RIOS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001, or ISO 450001. • The vendor must have an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Identification Number and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation Identification Number. • The vendor must provide a Waste Management Plan that includes the processing method for each waste stream and all entities involved in handling the waste.
