Part-Time Commissioner and Pro Tempore Judges

The Bremerton Municipal Court is seeking qualified attorneys to serve as part-time Commissioner and Pro Tempore Judges on an as-needed basis. The Court handles criminal misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, infractions, and vehicle impounds within the City of Bremerton’s jurisdiction. Key responsibilities include presiding over hearings, ensuring proceedings are conducted fairly and efficiently, maintaining professionalism, and completing necessary documentation. • Minimum qualifications include being licensed to practice law in Washington State, having at least 5 years of legal experience, and demonstrating strong knowledge of Washington criminal procedure and judicial ethics. • Preferred qualifications include prior judicial or administrative hearing officer experience and familiarity with courtroom technology. • Applicants must submit a letter of interest, current resume, three professional references, and a writing sample (optional). • The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to change the selection process or timeline.
