Description
The Commonwealth seeks qualified individuals to serve as Fair Hearing Officers for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. Officers will conduct due‑process hearings, evaluate evidence, and issue written decisions for consumers with disabilities, ensuring compliance with MRC regulations and state procedural rules. The contract is a fee‑for‑service arrangement with hourly rates and a maximum annual obligation per officer.
• Conduct preparation, hearing, and decision‑writing for due‑process hearings under MRC’s informal adjudicatory rules.
• Bill services in half‑hour increments at rates ranging from $50‑$100/hr (pre‑Sept 2026) or $100‑$200/hr (Sept 2026‑June 2027).
• Travel reimbursement at the Commonwealth mileage rate; contracts are renewable annually with a possible 3‑year extension, total term up to 8 years.
