Description
The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to further develop a statewide problem gambling system of care using an administrator and regional hub model. The proposed system includes a lead organization that will provide training, technical assistance, and quality assurance functions to support regional providers in building their capacity to increase access to gambling treatment and recovery support services, including telehealth. The lead organization will also identify a network of 5 regional hubs that will provide comprehensive problem gambling treatment and recovery services, including telehealth. The regional hubs will provide direct clinical care for gambling disorder and other addiction treatment needs, and will benefit from the administrator's statewide training and technical assistance. Key deliverables include developing an 18-month training plan, providing incentive-based deliverables for regional hubs, and submitting monthly and quarterly status reports. The project aims to increase access to problem gambling services, enhance provider capacity, and improve client engagement and retention in treatment. Some of the key responsibilities of the lead organization and regional hubs include:
• Providing problem gambling in-person and telehealth assessment, treatment, and recovery support services
• Offering financial counseling on site
• Identifying and responding to unique regional needs while maintaining alignment with statewide standards and protocols
• Submitting service level data to support statewide reporting and continuous improvement
The project has several key performance indicators (KPIs), including increasing the number of trained and qualified problem gambling treatment providers, improving client engagement and retention in treatment, and ensuring that 75% of Ohio counties have at least one physical provider or referral pathway for problem gambling treatment.
