ON-CALL ELECTRIC UTILITY EXCAVATION AND ASSOCIATED WORK

This contract provides an on‑call, as‑needed civil‑construction service for the Redding Electric Utility (REU) across the city’s service territory. The contractor must be ready to mobilize quickly for both planned and emergency work, performing excavation, trenching, shoring, conduit installation, back‑fill, concrete and asphalt restoration, street‑light foundation work, horizontal directional drilling, traffic control, and related environmental protections. Work orders will be issued individually by REU, and the contractor must comply with strict permitting, safety, prevailing‑wage, and insurance requirements. • Scope includes trenching, vault & pull‑box excavation, conduit placement (2‑, 4‑, 6‑in.), concrete pads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, asphalt, street‑light bases, and HDD. • Contractor must manage permits (city encroachment, Caltrans, county), provide water‑pollution control plans, and submit daily work‑agenda reports. • One‑year base term (July 1 2026 – June 30 2027) with optional two‑year extensions; bid security is 10 % of total bid; performance, payment, and maintenance bonds required.
