Sources Sought for Safety Inspectors COMPOSITE AWARENESS TRAINING

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking sources that can provide commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) composite awareness training for safety inspectors. The training should include information on composite material selection, storage, non-destructive testing and inspection methods, assessment of damage, and procedures for fabrication of specific composite aircraft structures. The contractor should provide instructor-led training in a brick-and-mortar facility located in the United States, with a maximum class size of 12 students. The training should be at least 32 hours long and should be provided on a per-class basis. The FAA estimates that there will be up to 10 classes per year. • The contractor should have experience delivering training related to the maintenance and repair of composite aircraft structures. • The contractor should have a qualified instructor with at least three years of experience in delivering training related to composite aircraft structures. • The contractor should provide a copy of the syllabus, training schedule, and course description to each student on the first day of training. • The contractor should provide a certificate of completion to each student upon successful completion of the training.
