Tanzania Police and Prisons

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking a local partner to implement a Comprehensive HIV activity in the Police and Prisons facilities in Tanzania. The goal of this activity is to reduce HIV and tuberculosis (TB) transmission through detection, care, and treatment of people living with HIV and TB in police and prison settings. The recipient of the activity will provide technical support to strengthen interventions that include HIV prevention, high-yield HIV testing services, elimination of mother-to-child transmission, adult and pediatric treatment, care, and support, and HIV/TB care for co-infected patients. Key aspects of the job include: • Implementing HIV prevention, testing, and counseling, care, and treatment, as well as prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and TB collaboration • Providing technical assistance and capacity building to Government of Tanzania entities, including the uniformed forces • Building the capacity of healthcare providers within the police and prison facilities • Promoting HIV risk-reduction behaviors among servicemen and women, community members, and prisoners
