Replacement of the Rabon Plant Cooling Towers 4 and 5

The University of Florida is seeking a qualified contractor to replace Cooling Towers 4 and 5 at the Lacy C. Rabon Chilled Water Plant. The scope includes demolition, disposal, structural replacement, installation of new fans, gearboxes, fill, drift eliminators, vibration and safety switches, and integration with existing piping and pump systems, all within the existing basin footprint. The contractor must provide engineered drawings, obtain all permits, adhere to UF design standards, and complete the work between 1 Nov 2026 and 1 Apr 2027, with a one‑year warranty and a contingency budget of $950,000. • Demolition of existing towers, debris disposal, and site preparation. • Supply and install new cooling‑tower structures, fans, gearboxes, fill, drift eliminators, and associated mechanical/electrical components. • Provide engineered design packages, obtain permits, and coordinate with UF facilities services; ensure completion by 1 Apr 2027.
