Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from potential sources to provide drop-in childcare services for children of veterans who have medical appointments at VA facilities. The services will be provided at various locations, including the American Lake VA facility in Washington state. The contractor will be responsible for providing hourly drop-in childcare services for children ages six weeks to twelve years old, and up to eighteen years old for children with special needs. The contractor will also be required to provide a program manager, childcare clerk, and childcare attendants to staff the childcare center. The contract will be a firm fixed price indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract, with a period of performance of five years.
Some key requirements include:
• Providing a minimum of three staff at each VA Kids Care, to include 1 Childcare Clerk and 2 Childcare attendants.
• Providing a childcare attendant clerk who must have experience in caring for special needs children.
• Providing a program manager who is responsible for the entirety of the program from compliance to staffing.
• Providing safe and quality care for young children with strict adherence to health, sanitation, safety, fire, and risk management requirements.
