The FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) requires external support to perform bioinformatics analysis of livestock genomics. The primary objective is to validate genomic variants in CRISPR/Cas9 gene-edited swine samples and generate breed-specific variant call files for cattle, chicken, and swine. The contractor will provide specialized bioinformatics services, including visual validation of genomic variants and generation of CRISPRme-ready input files. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price contract with a period of performance of one year, from July 15, 2026, to July 14, 2027.
Some key tasks include:
• Conducting a post-award kickoff meeting to review project goals and establish communication protocols
• Developing and documenting a standardized validation protocol for visual validation of genomic variants
• Performing comprehensive quality control analysis of received sequencing data files
• Generating breed-specific VCFs and CRISPRme input files for cattle, chicken, and swine
• Delivering a final comprehensive analysis report detailing methodologies, findings, and interpretations
The contractor must have prior experience working with CRISPR/Cas9 edited pig genomes and demonstrate a clear understanding of the statement of work requirements.
