Description

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking industry partners to commercialize its x-ray compensation in hohlraums with spherical shine shields technology. This technology is a unique approach to improving implosion symmetry in Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) targets. The advantages of this technology include a simple modification to the hohlraum/target geometry that does not require pulse shape modifications, and a 70% increase in yield compared to current best-in-class solutions. The potential applications of this technology include novel high-yielding target concepts for IFE. * The technology is currently at the TRL 0-2 stage of development. * LLNL has filed for patent protection on this invention. * Companies interested in commercializing this technology should provide a statement of interest, including company name and address, point of contact, and a description of corporate expertise and/or facilities relevant to commercializing this technology.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide information on the potential revenue or funding for the project. However, based on the fact that LLNL is seeking industry partners to commercialize this technology, it is likely that the budget will be in the form of licensing fees or royalties. The amount of these fees will depend on the success of the commercialization effort and the revenue generated by the technology. A rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000, depending on the scope and scale of the commercialization effort.
