The County of San Luis Obispo is seeking a qualified contractor to provide project management and technical oversight services for the Jail Security Electronics Project. The project involves significant upgrades to the Jail's Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), intercom systems, and Bosch video systems across multiple campuses. The selected contractor will act independently on behalf of the County to ensure that all system design, implementation, integration, and testing activities meet County requirements, technical standards, and operational objectives. Key responsibilities include project management, technical oversight, and deliverables such as monthly written status reports and technical review notes.
• Project management responsibilities: representing the County's interests, monitoring project schedules and milestones, tracking project risks and issues, facilitating communication among County stakeholders, and reviewing vendor-submitted documentation.
• Technical oversight responsibilities: providing technical expertise, participating in system design sessions and technical reviews, reviewing technical submittals and proposed system architectures, and identifying potential technical risks.
• Deliverables: monthly written status reports, technical review notes, and a final assessment confirming that project deliverables meet County requirements.
• Engagement details: the anticipated start date is August 2026, and the contractor will report to the IT Manager for the Sheriff's Department. The contractor is expected to be available during standard business hours and be onsite a minimum of three times per month for meetings and project coordination activities.
