The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a third-party provider to deliver subscription-based monitoring, protection, and ongoing service support for physical security systems at the VISN 5 office. The selected vendor will provide all labor, material, equipment, tools, monitoring, and supervision necessary to maintain and support the fully installed security systems. The scope of services includes intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, central station monitoring, and a protection plan for naturally occurring faults/failures of covered equipment.
Some key points to consider include:
• The contract period will be for a base year with four option years.
• The vendor will provide active monitoring with a 24-hour test timer, protection plan coverage, and project completion email notice upon completion.
• The vendor will also provide single deployment training and data sheets/manuals upon request.
• The contractor will not have access to the VA network, and video performance will be dictated by environment, programming, communication/infrastructure, maintenance, and the "weakest link".
• The contractor will maintain UL2050 certification for applicable work and will have a communication process in place for system errors and/or failure.
